    Position Outline

    The State Manager is responsible for establishing, and managing the implementation of, a new business model for Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) services to improve patient flows across the NSW public health system.


    With regular reporting to a steering group of senior executive members drawn from across NSW Health, the position holder will provide effective management of the establishment of new booking services which will co-ordinate and schedule all non-emergency transport services throughout the State.


    The position holder will work closely with relevant personnel in Local Health Districts managing patient flow and the provision of transport services to support effective governance and budget management by LHDs.


    The position holder will also manage the establishment of a panel of transport providers, including a process of market testing of non-government and private transport providers.


    The role entails managing major change in existing public sector booking systems, management of relationships with the Local Health Districts and the Ambulance Service to effect improvement in the cost-effectiveness of transport services, and negotiation with fleet providers.

    An attractive remuneration package within the range of $204,701 to $232,500 per annum and a contract of up to 3 years with annual performance reviews will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
