WOLLONGONG police duty officer Brian Wyver says recent reports of police dissatisfaction with their jobs and wages is not evident in Wollongong.
According to a survey of nearly 10 per cent of the state's 15,236 police officers, 98 per cent believe their jobs are fraught with red tape and 92 per cent believe there are too few officers. The survey also found that 75 per cent would consider working in another state. But Insp Wyver believes morale is high."I don't see that dissatisfaction, with the young people today, I see here a high morale and people who are happy to be in the police," he said."I think that I see the police in the Illawarra are happy with what they are doing and I don't see people leaving in mass numbers."
