Essentially, wages will be determined on the type of industry and the progress made by the employee such as Construction, Building and Architecture jobs or engineering jobs.

For most apprenticeships and trainees, wages are calculated as a percentage of the wages paid to qualified workers, and depend on the level reached by the apprentice or trainee.

There are several different types of apprenticeships which affect the set wages including Part-time apprentice or trainee, Adult apprentice and trainee, School-based apprentice and trainee and Apprentice and trainee employed by group training organizations.

Typically apprentice and trainee workers wages may commence at a minimum, but they offer high rewards in the form of on-site training and experience while building to quality wages.
