Wages have risen 1.2% in hourly rates

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the wages price index has report a rise of 4.3 per cent from this time last year in Australian jobs. Wages hourly rates climbed 1.2 per cent in the December quarter. This figure does not include jobs bonuses.
The wages price index monitors any changes in the underlying wages. Essentially it follows any changes in the wages and salary costs of jobs.
The index was predicting a rise of 0.9 per cent in December quarter for 2008 after recording a 1.0 per cent rise throughout the September quarter.
