    Wages in the Mining Oil and Gas Sector

    Wages in the Australian Mining, Oil and Gas for 2008 have recorded growth over 2008 despite the slowing economy with the average wages climbing from $124,000 in January 2008 to $138,000 by December 2008. Overall the average wages for 2008 was $143,259.

    The highest three average wages for 2008 in the Australian mining, oil and gas jobs sector were for Management, Asset Management and Utilisation and Oil and Gas Production. The averages wages was $169,044, $151,165 and $155,137 respectively.

    Other sub sectors that perform well in the wages data were Mining Engineering at $146,690, Mining Processing at average wages of $143,902 and Oil and Gas Engineering average wages being $149,224.
